Yahweh, Day 64

 

Day 64, Yahweh ... Shalom ... The Place of Faith

Judges 6:24 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

“So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it Yahweh Shalom.”

Backing up for today to Yahweh Shalom...

What king Ahab failed to realize ... and Israel in their threatened situation with the forces of Baal ... to know the Shalom of Yahweh is not to live in the absence of threat and challenge ... quite the contrary.

The Shalom of Yahweh is learned and lived in the most dire of circumstance.  Shalom keeps us not from trial and affliction ... but rather goes with us through trial and affliction.  It is in the midst of great challenge that we experience Yahweh Shalom.  Any other word is faith abating.

Intercessory Prayer:  Dear Father, as we face the trials of this life, may we do so with a faith that sustains us in solitude of soul … so that those who see our trials and our response to those trials … will see Yahweh Shalom.  This I ask for the glory of Your Name.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
