Yahweh, Day 62

 
Day 62, Yahweh... Shalom... The Place of Courage

Judges 6:24 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it Yahweh Shalom.”

What is the basis of true spiritual courage?  It is here ... at this altar of Yahweh Shalom.  It was at this ‘heart’ altar that the three Hebrew children rested as they responded to the threats of the evil King...

“If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up..."
Daniel 3:17-18 (HCSB)

They knew Yahweh Shalom.  Can you relate?

Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Father!  We are weak and fearful!  Fill us with courage to stand in the face of whatever life might bring our way.  We ask You this so that we might stand with honor under the banner of Christ our Lord … for the glory of Your Name … and to be a witness to our threatening world … that You are everything that we could hope for or desire.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
