Yahweh, Day 6

Day 6: The Generational Mandate

Yahweh will use you today… for someone’s benefit two hundred years from now…. and He knows the person and the benefit…

If you and I are not living our lives with the conscious reality that we are going to impact future generations then we haven’t learned the first thing about Yahweh.

If you and I are not living our lives with the conscious reality that we are going to impact future generations then we will never understand the sacrifices we are often called on to make…. We will never understand what to give ourselves to, and our efforts to in this life, if we have not a vision for future generations.  This is seen in the statement that Yahweh is the God of “Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Exodus 3:15 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“…Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever; this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.”

This is the beginning of understanding generational thinking.

Ps 105:8-10 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“He forever remembers His covenant, the promise He ordained for a thousand generations —  the covenant He made with Abraham, swore to Isaac, and confirmed to Jacob as a decree and to Israel as an everlasting covenant.”

Intercessory Prayer: Oh Father!  Help us to see that our lives have purpose in Your plan, not just for today, but for generations to come.  Oh God, help us to live for the glory of Your Name and for Your Kingdom goals, and to see our part in Your plan for the ages!  Help us to realize that every sacrifice that we are called on to make today has an eternal purpose … and that we would be honored to give it all … for Your sake, and for Your will, and for Your Glory … alone.  In Jesus Name.
