Daily Nugget

Tuesday, December 3rd. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“I am not worth purchasing, but such as I am, the king of Great Britain is not rich enough to do it” (General Joseph Reed). General Joseph Reed, who died in 1785, was addressing Congress. He understood that he had been offered a bribe on behalf of the British crown.

May we live our lives understanding that the devil wants to bribe us into following him, and also knowing that as unworthy as we are, we must remember what 1 Corinthians tells us: ”For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

God, we are not worthy, but thank You for loving us and paying the ransom for us. Amen.
