Daily Nugget

Monday, April 1st, 2013.  Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

Three celebrated explorers were invited to dinner at the Geographical Club in London. Sir Vivian Fuchs had explored Greenland, East Africa, and the Antarctic. Dr. John Hemmin had gone on an expedition to Brazil. Robin Hanbury-Tenison had explored Ecuador, Brazil, Venezuela, the Sahara, and the Amazon. They met at the Royal Geographical Society, a quarter mile from their destination. Within fifteen minutes they were lost in the backstreets of London.

Each of us in our own element can do what we do best, but removed from our comfort zone, we each can be made to look foolish.  When we're the chips are down, we must take the advice of the wise writer of Proverbs 2:5-6, who says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

God, thank You for giving us wisdom and direction…when we ask. Amen.
