You know it is hot when the swans in the park come in “Original Recipe” and “Extra Crispy.”

This time of year, everyone you meet is hot and it is easy for tempers to get even hotter. The writer of Proverbs 15 :1 has this recipe to cool things off: “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

God, keep our thoughts under Your control that our tongues might fall in line. Amen.
