This statement can be true of many things from the medications we take to our personalities and to all the quirks pertaining to who we are. The wise writer of Proverbs 27:17 puts it in this context:  “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Even our grating on each other serves to make each of us better.

God, thank You for our friends and family that shape us into who we are.  Amen.
