Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.
“Those only
deserve a monument who do not need one. I would rather have men ask why I have
no statue than why I have one.” (unknown)
Reta’s mother’s
birthday is today. Though she has been gone for 16 years, her legacy lives on
through her children, grandchildren and now through great grandchildren.
Her children, especially her daughters, carry the beauty, charm, and
grace she showed to the world.
The love and
light I see in Reta’s eyes are a tribute to her mother, Emma Meadows. That
twinkle of love for life has past from generation to generation leaving a
tribute greater than any statue that man could have ever been created in her
honor. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, “Let your
light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.”
I see not only
the earthly family resemblance in Reta, but also the way she glorifies her
heavenly Father.
God,
thank You for our earthly families, and even greater for the relationship
we can have with You. Amen
Bro.
