Daily Nugget

Saturday, December 31st, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving: To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it—but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.”
(Oliver Wendell Holmes)
God did not give us a taproot, but gave us two of several things. He gave us two ears to hear what we need to join, and to hear what to avoid. He gave us two eyes to see beauty and to discern danger. He gave us two feet to run to that which is good and to run away from that which is dangerous or evil. He gave us two arms to embrace Him and our fellow man in love.

The apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 challenges us with these words:
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”
Use all God has given you for His glory.

"God, thank You for creating us as You did. Help us to be what you intended.
Amen."
