No matter how you say it, old friends are precious and new ones gained just as valuable. The writer of Proverbs 18:24 says,

“A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”

What a blessing it is to have a physical brother as a friend, and friends who are spiritual brothers and sisters.
