Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

An old country preacher used to say, “There are two parts to the Gospel. The first part is believing it, and the second part is behaving it.” The hearer only is the one who is satisfied with just believing without behaving.

It is easier to believe than to live out the life that reflects the Christ living in us. With these words, the writer of James 1:22 reminds us of the importance of action rather than of just knowledge:

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

"God, let my actions find me doing what I know to do.
Amen."
