Daily Nugget

Monday, July 25th, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"A group of Christian laymen involved in missionary work approached a small village near an Amish settlement. Seeking a possible convert, they confronted an Amish farmer and asked him, 'Brother, are you a Christian?' The farmer thought for a moment and then said, 'Wait just a few minutes.' He wrote down a list of names on a tablet and handed it to the lay evangelist. 'Here is a list of people who know me best. Please ask them if I am a Christian.' The evidence of faith is fruit."
(Phillip Gunter)

Who should answer that question more than our friends, family, and acquaintances? The writer of Acts 11:26 tells us,
“The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.”
They were called Christians because they modeled the actions of Jesus Christ, not because they just said they were followers of Christ.

"God, let my actions point others to You.
Amen."
