When we think about how some of the spiritual giants dealt with depression and discouragement, just imagine the depths of despair some of our friends and neighbors are facing. The apostle Paul sent a mutual friend to the believers in Ephesus and here are his words to those believers:

“I am sending him to you for this very reason, to let you know how we are and to encourage your hearts.”

We need to be the ones bringing kind words of encouragement to others.

"God, thank You for the ones You have sent in my hours of trial. Let me be that kind of friend to others.
