The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

Say, have you taken the time to notice the colors of the trees lately? A yard on our street has a couple of maple trees - they are gorgeous. There are several shades of brilliant orange, vibrant yellows and multiple reds.

When I see the beauty of nature I'm reminded of a verse in the Bible. It says,
"God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart."
(Ecclesiastes 3:11)

You know God could have done it differently. He could have made a black and white world, or created us without the ability to see colors; some animals are color-blind. But did you notice in the verse that the beauty of nature is tied to our divine awareness? Look again ...He made everything beautiful... and set eternity in the human heart.

I believe the main reason we can see and appreciate the beauty of nature is because God desires to draw us close to Himself. God longs to be in relationship with you and I -that is amazing! God, the God who made it all, wants us to know Him personally.

Wow!

Please take a few moments to just look around you. See all that God has done and realize it's all because He wants to get your attention; He wants to touch your heart with His love.

The question is, will you let Him?
