Yahweh

Purpose Of Judgment

"Cover their faces with shame so that they will seek Your name, Lord. Let them be put to shame and terrified forever; let them perish in disgrace. May they know that You alone- whose name is Yahweh- are the Most High over all the earth.
Psalm 83:16-18 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

The Psalmist here captures the primary purpose of God's execution of Judgment... to reveal that He alone is Yahweh.

Some believe that God's Judgment is purely a function of His rage against sin... and therefore see God as some kind of angry, mad, creature... thrashing about in some sort of delirious tantrum...

... Even in Judgment... Yahweh is reaching out in a solemn effort to actually reveal Himself to humanity.
