Yahweh... Revealing the source of His Favor and Love.


If you will... this is a BIG REALITY CHECK for humans....

... for all humans have this innate thought lurking in their minds and hearts that they are each one somehow... special... in other words we all have a tendency to think that we are so special that God just can't get His Will and Work done without us... and many have used that feeling to justify every type of self-centered impulse, self-centered focus, and sin imaginable.

Won't work on Yahweh.

Deuteronomy 7:7-9
"The Lord was devoted to you and chose you, not because you were more numerous than all peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But because the Lord loved you and kept the oath He swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed you from the place of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know that Yahweh your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His gracious covenant loyalty for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commands."

You see the focus in our passage... the focus is on Yahweh... and His character... God chose to love and use Israel not because there was anything particularly "special" about them... but rather because He is Special... Israel was simply the benefactor of God's great heart and consideration.

As... are we all that belong to Him.
