Monday, February 22nd. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"A bird had no interest in learning the song its master wanted to teach it while its cage was full of light. The bird's master covered the cage to darken it. He then whistled the same song over and over until the bird learned the tune by heart. When it could repeat the melody note for note, the owner uncovered the cage and the bird sang the tune beautifully."

This act is an illustration of the way God sometimes deals with us. He darkens the cage of our lives in order to teach us some divine music.

Just thinking of the example kind of makes me wonder what we would have learned had been willing to endure the trial God had given us, instead of trying to avoid the experience. How sweet could the song be He is trying to teach us?

The Apostle Paul writes this advice:
“Be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(Ephesians 5:18-20)
"God, let me learn the melodies, the songs, and choruses You intend for me.
Amen."

Give God Praise.
