Sunday, September 20th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Brokenness is not revival; it is a vital and indispensable step toward it.”
(Arthur Wallis)

During times of prosperity and safety, it is easy to become prideful and forget where the blessings came from; however, with adversity naturally comes a time for brokenness and reflection. In spite of this time of sorrow, to stop there is to miss the blessing of repentance and restoration.

The writer of Proverbs tells us: “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (34:18-19)

Let us repent and confess our sins as called for in 1 John 1:8-9: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

"God, forgive us for forgetting You. Let us return to a nation again whose God is the Lord. (Psalm 22:12)
Amen."

Seek God while He may be found.
