Sunday, August 16th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Character isn’t about who you are when you know the spotlight is on you; it’s about who you are when it isn’t, or when you THINK it isn’t.”
(Unknown)

Paul in his letter to the Romans says this:
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
(Romans 5:1-5)

Anyone can fake having character for a moment, but the one who perseveres day in and day out without pretention is the one who demonstrates the character of God that will not disappoint.

God, let my walk with You shine into the dark places, encouraging others to follow You, also.
Amen.

Follow God and His plan for your life, walking by faith in Him.
