Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill
Firing an employee is one of the toughest jobs a
supervisor ever faces. For example, though the experience can be negative, an
insurance sales manager was known for his tact and diplomacy. One of his young
salesmen was performing so poorly that he had to be terminated. The manager
called him in and said, “Son, I don’t know how we’re ever going to get along
without you, but starting Monday we’re going to try.”
It is interesting to see how one little word like
"but" can make all the difference in the world. “We all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). In Romans 6:23 we
are told, “The wages of sin is death.” The verse, however, doesn’t
end there. The conclusion is “But, the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord.” What a difference that little connection word
makes.
God, thank You for the reconciliation that comes
through Your Son Jesus. Amen.
