Daily Nugget

     Wednesday, May 30th, 2012.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Nothing is so wretched or foolish as to anticipate misfortunes.” (Seneca)

With all the real challenges we face, why add to our anxieties by fabricating greater catastrophes in our minds? The writer of Proverbs 24:19 says, “Don’t worry because of evildoers, and don’t envy the wicked.”
On the other hand, we should take this advice of the apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

God, help us to keep our focus on You and the things that are praiseworthy. Amen
