Daily Nugget

    Tuesday, May 29th, 2012.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“A boss creates fear; a leader creates confidence. Bossism creates resentment; leadership breeds enthusiasm. A boss says, “I”; a leader says, “We.” A boss fixes blame; a leader fixes mistakes. A boss knows how; a leader shows how. Bossism makes work drudgery; leadership makes work interesting. A boss relies on authority; a leader relies on cooperation. A boss drives; a leader leads.” (unknown)

Jesus challenge His disciples (and us) in Mathew 9:9 with these simple words: “Follow me.” There is no one better to follow than Jesus. He demonstrates all the qualities of leadership we should desire.

God, teach me as I serve You to be the leader I need to be as a husband, a dad, and a pastor. Amen
