It is usually not too hard to be in control of ourselves when things go our way. On the other hand, it is quite another story when circumstances heat up by conflict of personalities. The wise writer of Proverbs 15:1 gives us this good advice: “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”  How simple a solution, yet we spend a lifetime trying to master its lesson.

 God, let me learn to walk with You so my walk with others brings peace, love, and joy--the fruits of Your spirit. Amen.
