Jesus reminded us in John 3:16,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only be gotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

To choose to believe in Jesus is to have life in heaven. Not to choose to believe in Jesus is to reject Him and spend eternity in hell where, as Jesus tells us in Mark 9:44,

“The worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
