Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“I want what God wants, that’s why I am so merry.”

Many folks think God just has a list of "Don’ts" or "Thou Shalt Nots." Those beliefs cloud the picture of how they feel about Him. The truth is they are having trouble being happy because they want what they want, and since they don’t always get their wants and wishes, they are sad. The wise writer of Proverbs 17:22 says,

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

Yes, if we seek the world and its riches, we will be disappointed, but if we seek the Lord and follow His leadership, our hearts will be merry and our lives filled with hope.
