Daily Nugget

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

"Christians have fallen into the habit of accepting the noisiest and most notorious among them as the best and the greatest. They too have learned to equate popularity with excellence, and in open defiance of the Sermon on the Mount they have given their approval, not to the meek, but to the self-assertive; not to the mourner, but to the self-assured; not to the pure in heart who see God, but to the publicity hunter who seeks headlines.”
(A. W. Tozer 1897–1963)

Because things have not improved but have proven to be worse than half a century ago, I can only imagine what Tozer would say today if he were here. Even in the midst of such disruption and hardships, it is good to know that God is still on His throne and in control, exercising great patience and mercy toward us, knowing all will stand before Him in the eternity. Let us look at these words of the apostle Paul in Philippians 4:10-11:
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

"God, we long for the day when You alone will be glorified by all Your creations. Amen."

Bro. Bill

God is Love! Let us reflect that love.
