Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Authority intoxicates, And makes mere sots of magistrates; The fumes of it invade the brain, And make men giddy, proud, and vain.”
(Samuel Butler, 1612–1680)

Many men and women have been destroyed by power. To keep a level head, we must understand that ultimately any authority we have comes from God Himself. The writer of Psalm 75:6-7 reminds us where our position comes from with these words:

“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

"God, Thank You for letting me serve You.
