Daily Nugget

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Back of the loaf is the snowy flour, And back of the flour the mill, And back of the mill is the wheat and the shower, And the sun and the Father’s will.”
(Maltbie D. Babcock 1858–1901)

We easily forget where our provisions come from when we have a refrigerator, a freezer, and cabinets full of food. In fact, too many times, we have such excess that we are bored with what we have. How quickly that attitude has changed in Japan and in other parts of the world as tragedy has shaken their security. We must remember to pray as Jesus taught His disciples (and us) in Matthew 6:9-13:
“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

"God, give us this day our daily bread. Thank You for the daily provision You send to us.
Amen."
