Wednesday, October 13th, 2010. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Maturity begins to grow when you can sense your concern for others outweighing your concern for yourself."
(John MacNaughton)

We begin to grow from the moment we are born. In the process, we grow up (taller not necessarily wiser), and then we begin to fill out, starting us on the journey toward maturity.

Physical maturity too often is complete long before mental, emotional, and spiritual catches up; therefore, it is a blessing to see friends and acquaintances moving from being self centered to being concerned for others. I pray that others see that trait in me.

Concerning such development, such growth, in the church, the apostle Paul, in 2Corinthians 12:24-26, writes these words:
“God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable, so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other. So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”

"God, let me mature in all areas as You desire me to.
Amen."
