The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

Do you take daily supplements, like vitamins etc.? I do, and I think they help. These pills and potions help to keep our bodies healthy and ward off sickness. Shouldn't we do as much for our spirits?

The bible is our main source, and we need to eat and drink from God's Word every day. Just as we sit down and eat a meal of physical food we should do the same with the Word. But, in addition we can pause now and then throughout the day for a little spiritual supplement. That's what I call devotionals that we read when we have an extra minute.

Here are some suggestions for spiritual supplements that I use and you might want to consider:

One of the basics is Our Daily Bread
Ron Hutchcraft at: A Word for You
Chuck Swindoll at: Insight For Living
Charles Stanley at: In Touch

There are others but these are some good ones. You can have them emailed to your inbox or sent to your phone or other electronic communications device. A daily devotional alone is not enough to keep you spiritually healthy, but it will help keep you fortified for the battle. Take one or more throughout your day as a supplement and I bet you'll feel better.

BUT NEVER FORGET THE MAIN MEAL IS A HEALTHY HELPING OF GOD'S WORD STRAIGHT FROM THE BIBLE!
