How many meager meals have become banquets because of the company we were with? How many feasts have been reduced to mush because of bitterness or anger at the table? The writer of Psalms 89:15 gives us this bit of advice:

“Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.”

This advice is just another great reason to ask the blessing on each meal, inviting the Lord’s blessings upon the food and upon the lives with whom we share the meal.
