Spurgeon tells us that “Often our trials act as a thorn-hedge to keep us in the good pasture, but our prosperity is a gap through which we go astray.”

The writer of James 1:2-3 puts a positive spin on the trials we have with these words:

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.”

"God, thank You for the trials You choose for me.
Amen."
