Wednesday, March 17th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

The Headlines read, Cella: "It’s a terrible shame"

Now our minds can conjure loads of reasons for a terrible shame. That crisis could have been an event from one of the earthquakes, one of the floods, tornados, or any number of nature disasters we read about daily. Possibly a murder or accident could have caused an eye-catching headline such as this, but no, the "shame" was that a horse lost a race and was being pulled from The Apple Blossom Invitational on April 9.

I find it interesting that a sector of people will be devastated by the loss of a horse in a race, but never stirred by the lostness of their fellow man, or maybe even of themselves. Jesus reminded us of the value to be placed on our souls:
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?."
(Matthew 16:26)

Regardless of the trap that prevented him from seeking God and His Kingdom, a terrible shame exists when one loses his soul. (Matthew 6:33)

"God, help me be burdened by the things that bother You and not by the traps of this world.
Amen."

God is ever loving!
