Three cheers for CNN for being the first to announce this great news from our war effort in Iraq... not one single American troop killed the entire month in the entire nation!
Now... this is all over the MSM? Credit CNN on this one!!!

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- December was the first month since the beginning of the Iraq war in which there were no U.S. combat deaths, the U.S. military reported.
"That is a very significant milestone for us as we continue to move forward, and I think that also speaks to the level of violence and how it has decreased over time," said Army Gen. Ray Odierno, the top U.S. commander in Iraq....
... Since July, U.S. forces have suffered no more than five combat-related deaths each month. There were five in July, three in August, four in September, two in October and four in November.
Non-combat deaths outnumbered combat fatalities in March, September, October, November and December....
Casualties also have decreased among Iraqis, with Interior Ministry officials reporting in late November that the civilian death toll fell that month to its lowest level since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion....
And... "atta-boy" Americans!
That our war dead will not have died in vain.

On the one hand that is certainly great news. On the other hand, the MSM reports of it seem to be a back handed way of saying "see, as long as we don't provoke them, they will leave us alone. Just let the Iraqi's handle their own problems."
Perhaps I am to jaded by the MSM, but I don't trust any of them when it comes to either sincerity of concern, integrity or honor.
I had the same caution about their intention...
