The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again, thanks for taking the time to listen.

Well, it’s 2010, and the start of a new year. Say, what’s your goal for 2010? Do you have one?

Would you consider these verses from Philippians chapter 3 where the Apostle said,
“I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running and I'm not turning back. So let's keep focused on that goal . . . total commitment . . . Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.”
(Phil. 3:14-16 MSG)
There’s your goal for 2010, ‘being focused on Jesus … not turning back … total commitment and … staying on track.’ Sounds like a plan to me. But, like any good plan you have to work at it, or it won’t happen. Anything worth having is work working for.

Now, you cannot earn you salvation but, as a Christian you are expected to work at living a Christ honoring life. Ephesians 2:10 says,
“God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live.”
My goal for 2010, to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ more and more. What’s yours?
