Jesus reminds us in Matthew 5:16:

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

I think that best puts it into perspective also because all we are we owe to God and to His working in us, and all we do is to point the world to The Heavenly Father, and not to ourselves.
