An atheist group in England is trying to convince parents that it is morally wrong to label their children's belief systems.

They've had a "bus campaign" of adds like the one posted above, now they want to influence national legislation.

The final phase of the atheist bus campaign will challenge the idea that children can be labelled with their parents' religion

This week, the final phase of the atheist bus campaign will appear in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast – not on buses, but on billboards. Due to the amazing sums donated to the campaign fund by many Cif readers at the end of last year, we raised enough for a second wave of adverts – and the above posters will launch today.

When, in this Cif piece back in October 2008, we asked how the extra funds should be spent, one of the issues which came up repeatedly in the comments concerned the growth of of faith schools in the UK and the segregation of children according to their parents' beliefs. Many of you felt strongly that children should be given the freedom to decide which belief system they wanted to belong to, if any, and that they should not have a religion decided for them....

You know, its not like kids already have to deal with an overwhelming assault by the media in general against Christianity... now the atheist desire to tell parents to keep their mouths shut about their beliefs to their own children... to leave the children adrift in a secular and anti-Christian world... to make their own choices.... and of course their choices presented certainly won't be... evenly presented... and just who do the atheists suggest be the proper authority to make this presentation of choices to children?

One more infringement on the Biblical role of parents and their responsibility to raise their children in the nurture of Christ.

Consider and ponder.

Maybe that's a good idea. I mean just as long as it is applied "fairly."

What say they produce a few buses that address specific religions? Maybe have a look at the Scientologist and then say maybe the Muslims?

I wonder how that would work out for them. I wonder how long their secular egalitarian principles would protect and insulate them from retribution.

You never know, they may actually get away with assailing Islam. (not)
