Tuesday, July 7th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.
"Rail travel at high speeds is not possible because passengers, unable to breathe, would die of asphyxia."
(Dionysius Lardner, Professor of Natural Philosophy and Astronomy at University College, London , 1830)
Of course, we know the statement above has proven to be false. Many times our knowledge is based on limited information.
Jesus one time asked His disciples, “Who do men say that I the Son of man am?” (Matthew 16:13). They answered Him, “Some say John the Baptist, Elijah, or one of the prophets” (verse 14). They gave their answer based on the knowledge the people had at the time.
Then Jesus asked them, “But who do you say that I am?”( verse 15), and Peter answered in verse 16, “Thou art The Christ The son of the Living God.” Then in verse 17, Jesus affirmed Peter with the assurance that “flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father which is in heaven.”
To have a relationship with God, we will not learn how by flesh and blood or books of man, but we will perceive it by a quickening of the spirit of God Himself revealing Himself to us.
"God, let me look to You for my answers. Reveal more of Yourself to me daily.
Amen."
Draw near to God daily, He desires fellowship with you.
