Day 73, Yahweh … Worthy an Altar

1Kings 18:31-32 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

“Elijah took 12 stones-according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, ‘Israel will be your name‘- and he built an altar with the stones in the name of Yahweh.”

The 12 stones representing the tribal names ... built/joined/placed together in God's name.  We tend to focus on the names on the stones instead of the Name of the altar. 

Intercessory Prayer:  Oh Yahweh!  We love to display our names and our distinctions.  Forgive us for the great neglect we have given to Your Name … and Your fame … and Your glory.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
