Daily Nugget

Monday, April 2nd, 2012.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A little boy being asked for the definition of forgiveness gave the beautiful answer: “It is the odor that flowers breathe when they are trampled upon.” Philip the Good, when some of his advisers would have persuaded him to punish a subject who had used him ill, he declined, saying, “It is a fine thing to have revenge in one’s power; but it is a finer thing not to use it.”
Because for our sins, we all are due punishment; however, God our heavenly Father chose to let Jesus take our place. In 2 Peter 3:9 the writer tells us:
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
What a mighty God we serve!

"God, thank you for You infinite love toward us.
Amen."
