The Chaplains Corner

The Chaplains Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

Today I want to make one point very clear - the message, significance and influence of the Cross must be taken back into the public domain.

In many ways we, the Christians, have allowed the Cross to be restricted to 'appropriate religious settings' i.e. the church. And that was never the way the Lord intended it to be. In John 12:32 Jesus, speaking of the cross said,
"If I be lifted up, will draw all men unto me."
We must lift high the cross of Christ - everywhere.

Rev. George MacLoud said it very well.
"I simply argue that the cross be raised again at the center of the market place as well as on the steeple of the church, I am recovering the claim that Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles, but on a cross between two thieves; on a town garbage heap; at a crossroad of politics so cosmopolitan that they had to write His title in Hebrew and in Latin and in Greek ... and at the kind of place where cynics talk smut, and thieves curse and soldiers gamble. Because that is where He died, and that is what He died about. And that is where Christians ought to be, and what Christians ought to be about."
In 1 Cor. 1:18 the Apostle said,
"the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
Do you long to see the power of God in your life? Lift up the Cross!
