The Chaplains Corner

The Chaplains Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

The 4th of July is a day to celebrate and be grateful. We celebrate the wonderful freedoms that we have in this great nation.

Yes, I believe in American Exceptionalism. The United States is unique and special among the nations of the world.

The 4th of July is also a day to be grateful for our freedoms. The freedoms that we enjoy as American citizens have been bought and paid for with the lives of over one million dead soldiers. Over one million American soldiers have died so that you and I could be free. A high price has been paid for our freedom as Americans.

But, that's not the highest price that has been paid for freedom. You see real freedom only comes from a personal relationship with God. And the cost of that was the Lord Jesus Christ, the very Son of God, willingly allowing Himself to be tortured, nailed to a cross, and dying the most excruciating death, so that everyone who would accept Him could know real freedom.

All of us in this great nation have political, economic and social freedoms - thanks to those one million plus dead American soldiers. We can also have spiritual freedom thanks to the death and resurrection of the one and only God-man, Jesus Christ.

Do you know the real freedom that only He can give?
