Daily Nugget

Thursday, June 30th, 2011.

Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

“Where men are the most sure and arrogant, they are usually the most mistaken.”
(David Hume, 1711–1776)

How many times in our haste do we find foolishness in our ways? I remember the story of the disciple Peter jumping up and cutting off the ear of the servant of the high priest. Jesus put the ear back, and and we can only imagine the way Peter felt for the rebuke. The writer of James 1:5 gives us this advice:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

"God, give me the wisdom I need to remember my limitations.
Amen."
