Daily Nugget
Thursday's Nugget, for June 2nd, 2011.
Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.
"Envy: the Green Sickness."
(William Shakespeare, 1564–1616)
We live in a day when going "green" is considered a good thing. We know the saying, "Green with envy," and in that sense envy is not a good trait, description, or desire, but we would never know it by the lifestyles of the “In” crowd. The rule of the day is that if someone else has one (and it doesn’t matter what particularly) I "need" a bigger and better one. Let us choose to follow these words of the writer of Psalms 119:36:
“Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.”
"God, let me live unto Your ways without coveting my neighbors possessions.
Amen."
