Obviously, many of us do not accept ourselves. In fact, many of us have trouble accepting the forgiveness God has given us; consequently, we do not treat others with the respect they are due. If we are to change, we must follow the advice of Jesus Christ in Matthew 19:19 when he says,

“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

The message is clear: To love your neighbor, you must love yourself.
