Nothing is quite as disappointing as watching a team (especially if it is yours) resolve themselves to defeat. Championships have been won by teams refusing to give up until the final second has expired. The apostle Paul encourages us with these words in Hebrews 12:1:

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

As Christians, we are on God's team; therefore, we must not give up, but run in faith, knowing that the Lord is running by our side to the very end.
