The Chaplains Corner

The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

I was wondering, what's your name? Most people just call me, 'The Chaplain'. Do you have a nick name? Is there a certain name that only special people call you?

Did your parents name you after someone? A name is a special thing; it gives us a unique identity. It sets us apart from other people. You may not know it, but God has a special name for you.

He doesn't call you what your mother did. And when you get to heaven, He won't call you: Sue or Tom or Mary or Bill, or whatever name other people have always called you.

In Revelation 2:17 God is talking to the Christians and He says this about when we get to heaven,
"... I'll also give a clear, smooth stone inscribed with your new name, your secret new name."
When God says He will make all things new, He means it. You'll have a new home, a new body, a new life, and you guessed it, a new name.

Sounds pretty special doesn't it? But there is a catch, if you will.
"... only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life" (Rev. 21:27)
will ever be there. Over a dozen times in the Bible (once would be enough) it talks about having your name in His book, the Book of Life.

I wonder, is your name in His book?
