The Chaplain's Corner

Guest blogger, Chaplain Paul, is one of the most effective chaplains in America today. He is an emergency responder to every situation.

Hey, this is the Chaplain again.

Man, the stores are getting crowded, have you been to Wal-Mart lately?

We've had Black Friday and then Cyber Monday. Lots of people buying lots of stuff. Everyone trying to pick out just the right gift for each one on their list. But honestly, most of the folks I know don't really need anything. And what can you give to the person that already has everything? And then we try to remember everyone - and that can be a problem when you have a large extended family.

And sometimes in our hustle and bustle there is someone that we overlook. What about a gift for Jesus - isn't this supposed to be His birthday? Have you given any thought about what to give Jesus for Christmas? But what can you give to the One who owns it all? What present would be appropriate for the Lord of glory?

The answer is easier than you might think. All He wants is, YOU.

Christmas is a great time to remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is standing, patiently waiting to be invited into our lives. What a shame it would be if you had a party and forgot to invite the guest of honor. But that's what life is like if you don't have Jesus.

Is Jesus in your celebration? He wants to be, but He's waiting for you to open the door of your life and invite Him in.
