We need a Sabbath to rest and reflect on the Holiness and the Omnipotence of our Creator. The Sabbath is not only for God but also is for the great need inside each of us--the need to take the time to spend time with God the Heavenly Father who wants us to be part of His family. In keeping with the importance of and the need for the Sabbath, the writer of Mark 2:27 reminds us of these words of Jesus:

“The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”

"God, thank You for letting us draw aside to visit with You.
