Friday, May 7th. Today's cherished Nugget from guest blogger Pastor Bill.

A new pastor came to a church, and someone asked one of the deacons what he thought of the new preacher. “Well,” said the deacon,“I like him pretty well, but when it comes to praying, the former preacher asked the Lord for things the new preacher doesn’t even know the Lord’s got.”

Many times, our immaturity and finite nature does not permit us to see what God really has for us, including blessings which are far better than those we want for ourselves. We need to remember the words from the writer of James 4:2:
“Ye have not, because ye ask not.”
How many times this week did we miss a blessing because we didn’t even know what was within God's grasp?

"God, teach me to pray in faith without getting selfish or greedy.
Amen."
